I have heard it said that harboring unforgiveness

I have heard it said that harboring unforgiveness is like trying to poison another person by drinking the poison yourself; it hurts you more than them. I’ve been reflecting on this and though it’s true, it’s hard to let go. When the wound is fresh, the pain, and those who caused the pain, can be all that occupies our thoughts. You know what I’m talking about, right?
•
We live in a broken world where hurt people, hurt people. There may be no logic at all why we or someone else hurt others, whether accidental or intentional. But that’s just it, regardless of the reason or the sin, Jesus has saved us all. He has forgiven you and me, and—I must add—those who have hurt us and those we love.
•
When I remember Jesus and how He forgave those who pinned Him to the cross, how He forgives me, someone fallen from grace, I think, “Who am I to not forgive when I have been forgiven of so much? Who am I to say, ‘I can’t’ when He could?” I’m not saying the pain goes away in an instant, no. Though forgiveness is a choice, healing is a process. Neither are certain actions excusable, of course not. But I know if Jesus could forgive and let go, so can we. And He will help us to do it.

Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:13

He’s knocking, wanting to remove the poison from our hands so we might live and be free. You may not know how to let go, and if your only prayer is, “Jesus, help me,” then start there. A prayer I pray is, “Lord, I forgive, help me to continue to forgive, and heal my heart.” And I will pray this as many times as I need to. (Mathew 18:21-22)

Princesses, may Jesus heal our hearts, give us eyes to see and ears to hear His truth, free us from pain, and also, give us wisdom to know when to ask for forgiveness too. Ultimately, Princesses, I pray Jesus helps us to be more like Him in all we say and do so we might be a bright light in this world, reflecting Him through our life. 💛

There are so many times when I say something I reg

There are so many times when I say something I regret. I think, “Now, why did I say that? I should have said...” I know the tongue has the power to speak life as well as death, which is why I try to be careful about what I say. But sometimes Princesses, I just wish my words were wiser, more gracious, elegant, and (can I be honest) not so judgmental.
•
A few months ago, I was feeling especially discouraged about this and was constantly praying, “Lord, please, change my words. I want to sound more like you.” And during one of these prayers, the Lord got on me and said, “Daughter, don’t pray that I would change your words—pray that I would change your heart.”
•
Jesus is concerned about the state of our soul, not just how we appear to others. This life with Him is a journey, and sure, we’re not going to always get it right, and we’ll say things we wish we hadn’t but He’s with us. Stay close to Him. Sometimes we feel ashamed because of these shortcomings, but the Lord is right here saying, “Just ask me and I’ll help you because I love you. We’re in this together, kiddo.” Be encouraged, Princesses. The Lord is doing a deep work in our lives for the eternal, not just for this temporal life. Be patient with yourself and continue to pray, praise, and obey. 😊👍 We’re all in this together.

Princesses, Jesus is so good to us. You know, I recently found out I have a tumor and will need a surgery in a couple weeks. It has been hard, I won’t lie. I am grateful this surgery will save my life, but there are some days I dread it. I just don't want to face the pain. However, this process has made me think so much about Jesus.
•
He went through something 1000x worse than this, and he didn’t even do it to save his own life, it was to save ours. I’m doing this surgery just to save my own life, and it’s overwhelming. Jesus felt that dread too, yet He said, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” He focused on His Father, and He made it through it all. I’m learning from Jesus.
•
He told me recently, and I shared this on the blog (link in the description), that this battle, I would win with praise. It’s the way Jesus lived His life, glorifying the Father in all. So, when I feel overwhelmed by what I see in front of me, I have been turning away and turning to God because the Lord told me that this is how I’m going to make it. But I believe this is true for all of us.
•
You may not be facing something like a surgery, but maybe you have things happening in your life that is causing you to be stressed, to be overwhelmed, and maybe feeling dread. I want to encourage you to speak your hallelujah, to remind yourself of the goodness of God, and to praise Him even when you don't understand, can't see the way, don't feel like it, can't hear the Lord . . . let Him hear you. May we walk through all our challenges remembering who is our Lord and with faith that He walks with us, that He loves us. Jesus, we say not our will but Yours be done in our life. Thank you for this day, Lord.

Where you go, I will go and where you stay, I will stay.

Princesses, this time of isolation has been teaching me about surrender. The reason I haven’t been posting as much as I’ve wanted here is because I’ve been going through some difficult things with my health. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve had to stop working at my job. I teach English online, a job I love, but also can be stressful and time consuming too—like any job.
•
The Lord said to me back in April that it was time to stop working, to nurture my body, and just rest. I didn’t know how—financially—I would make it but here I am. He has been providing for me for the past two months in some crazy, miraculous ways, even while I’m trying to find answers for my body. God has been so faithful, I’m just so amazed. (Also, for you who needs encouragement... God is there for you too. Just wait and see what’s around the corner.)
•
Anyway, all that to say, though I have been quick to say “Lord, where you go I’ll go,” I have also been learning to add, “and where you stay, I’ll stay.” There is a time for running and a time for being still. A time to be seen and a time to be hidden. I have peace because this is how God wants me: to stop, pause, and rest. And it is good... because God is here with me. ♥️

God loves the person who believes differently than you.

As I’m sure you know by now, not everyone agrees with you, and neither do you agree with all people. We all see things differently. We each have different beliefs about religion, politics, handling money, raising a child, being vegan, which way the toilet paper should go—you name it. Our beliefs about something can separate us from each other, challenge us to look at our stance from a different perspective, or change the way we belief altogether. It’s a beautiful how we are all so different.
•
In saying that, I think we need to remember to center ourselves in love as we hear opposing views. We need to remember that Jesus loves the person who disagrees with our opinion. We need to remember to have patience, forgive, be gracious and slow to anger, be humble and listen, and with God’s guidance, not to let differences destroy our relationships, but to love the person behind the belief.

We aren’t always right, you know, but hasn’t God been so gracious towards us? He has loved us when we were so wrong. He has been gentle and kind, yet firm, in our ignorance. He has always brought the truth to us in such a loving way, and given us a choice to believe.
•
Princesses, my prayer for us is that the Lord would help us to have wisdom as we navigate this world and encounter all the people in it, even our own family. I pray for grace as we learn what is truth, and how not to judge others, but trust God will guide us with our own beliefs and with theirs. I thank God we are not alone but are always learning from Him and from each other. ❤️

I’ve been away for a while, and I’ve missed writing. Life has been busy, and I hate—sorry, “strongly dislike” that excuse, but it’s true. My life has been so full, and I’ve missed doing things I love, like being here and chatting with you. •
How have you been, Princess? Have you been learning to rest as I have? I don’t know about you but resting sometimes makes me feel guilty and a bit lazy. It shouldn’t be that way though, even God rested. So, I’m learning to embrace the rest because doing nothing can be good sometimes!

Most of us have been brought up to “do” and “work hard” and if you aren’t working hard, you are lazy, right? But listen, even God says to honor the Sabbath and be still. “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.“ Exodus 34:21
•
My body has been so tired lately trying to keep up with my busy life, but I can’t do it anymore. I need to be still, and my doctors agree. So, now I’m going to reduce some things in my life in the coming weeks, create space to create, to do what I love, and to just do nothing for some time without guilt. Also, I get to spend more time with you, and I love that very much. 💕 Rest is so very good. We should do it more often.

There have been so many moments in my life where I

There have been so many moments in my life where I really needed to feel the presence of God. I needed to know He was there with me, that I was making the right choice, that I wasn’t facing these trials alone. But I felt, heard and saw nothing. Sometimes, if I’m honest, I wondered if God had left me. I would think that maybe I went down the wrong path, and He was thinking, “Nope. Not going there with her. Hasta la vista, I’m heading back to heaven.”
•
But that’s not true at all. The bible says:
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39
•
In those moments, when there is no tangible proof God is right there with you, this is when your faith will be tested and where you will grow closer to God than you ever have been. Here’s what I want you to do: You can’t hear Him, so let Him hear you. You can’t feel Him, so seek His face. You can’t see Him, so let Him see your praise. Yes, this is what I encourage you to do in those times: praise Him, say in faith, “ God, you ARE here with me,” keep praying and having quiet times reserved for you and Him, and read the word, reminding yourself of the truth.
•
This isn’t a formula to get what you want, but this will keep your faith strong when you want to give up hope. It will keep you focused on Christ, and that’s ultimately what will be your strength in these times. Stand in faith. Be encouraged. I’ve been there, some days I still go through this, so let me remind you that God loves you so much.
•
Seek out the goodness of God in your life. There IS good, and that is God. He’s still here.

Lord, help me to love my family better.

We all fall short in our lives. You know it as well as I do. Our best efforts are not enough, and that’s why we need the Lord’s help. The good news is He is with us (John 16:13).
•
I used to feel ashamed to ask for help from God because I felt like I was bothering Him or that I was failing His expectations of me. Do those thoughts sound like they came from God? They did not, and the Lord was quick to remind me that Jesus died for me to be able to come to the Father without hesitation. Jesus opened the door for us to come to God at anytime of the day, in any place we are, and through any circumstance around us.
•
Many people have told me we should have an order in the way we come to God. First, praise; second, gratitude; third, repentence and lastly, asking requests. I think all those things are good, but I feel sometimes I focus more on the first three because they seem holier than asking God for help. In reality, humbling yourself to say, “God, I cannot do this alone,” is a state of heart that is pleasing to the Lord too. (Psalm 25:9)
•
Recently, I have asked God to help me love my family better. This is one place I struggle often and need more of Him. Today, I want you to know it’s okay to ask for God’s help in this life (Psalm 121:1-2). He’s there with you, waiting for you to come to Him (Psalm 46:1). We need God to follow God!
•
If you are struggling to break an addiction, come to Jesus (Psalm 50:15).
If you have a hard time obeying God, come to Jesus. (Psalm 143:10)
If you can’t see how to fix your relationship, come to Jesus. (Psalm 24:4-5)
If you feel empty, come to Jesus (Psalm 23).
If you need rest, come to Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30).

God will not give up on you so don’t give up on yourself.

God has a specific purpose for each of us but without fail the enemy tries to turn our cheek to the left and right so we swerve off the path God has set before us, or stop running altogether. The enemy wants us distracted and discouraged so we take our eyes off Jesus, who enables us to do the impossible and empowers us to run this race. What the enemy fails to understand is that we do not run alone.

When the enemy puts blockades in front of you, God yells, “JUMP OVER IT! You can do it, I’m with you!” When people from the crowd say or do things that take you off guard, God shouts, “DON’T LOOK AT THEM! Listen to me, Child. Follow me, I’ll show you where to go and how to do what I’ve called you to do.” When things begin to happen all around you, the Lord says to you, “Do not fear for I am with you, Do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteousness right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Princesses, be encouraged on this day. I know life comes with many challenges, but keep going, continue to praise God in every circumstance. He will surely help you in all that you have to do. He will give you wisdom, grace, and faith on this journey. Don’t quit. Don’t loose focus. God will not leave you. Just keep going back to Jesus, back to your love, and by faith, mountains will be moved.

Go at your own pace.

Remember the story of the turtle and the rabbit? The rabbit was going so fast down his lane, he felt he had all the time in the world to finish the race, afterall, he was a rabbit and his opponent was a turtle. He took time to eat his snacks, take a nap, explore some other paths, and eventually decided to get back to the race. Lo and behold, that little turtle who was far behind, didn’t detour but kept on his path, he didn’t stop but continued on and you know what? He won that race.
•
When it comes to writing, I sometimes feel I ought to write more like all these other Instagrammers who write daily. But then God reminds me that I am not in their lane, He has a different schedule for me. Sure, it may look slow to others, but actually, if I go any faster I’ll get a ticket for exceeding God’s speed limit. So, I go at my own pace.
•
And Princesses, YOUR own pace is perfect. It may look like people around you are superceding you in their life, but stick to your lane, keep going and don’t stop. Climb over the bumps in the road and keep your eyes on the finish line. Don’t worry about what others have already done or all the things they have going on, just do what God has called you to do. Follow Him, be faithful and finish well... and forget about the rabbit.

May we walk through fire with our arms lifted up in praise to our God

My family and friends recently had to evacuate because of fires in California. I can’t go home because the fire is still not contained. There are hundreds of people who have lost their homes. The air alone is so thick with smoke you can hardly breathe.
Yet, I rejoice.
How is it possible that we can be in this world, full of horrible disasters and find a glimmer of hope? Jesus. He came and died so we could look to the heavens and remember there is a way, there is light, and we are not alone in this dark hour.
Princesses, I know life can be good and how easy it is to smile on those lovely days when all is calm, when we are on the top of the mountain. But I also know, more often than not, we live in the valley, in the fire, in the storm. Do not forget the goodness of our God while you are in the dark. Remember the light and lift up your hands. I have felt fear in these days, that perhaps I will not have a home when I return, but friend, God is still with me. My real home is not on earth but in heaven, my comfort is not in my stuff but in Christ. It can be so easy to ask “Why did this happen?” but let us instead say, “I may not understand, but I will trust you, Lord and put my hope in you still, regardless of the outcome.” May we praise Him though we walk through fire, through the desert, through the valley and the storm. For God is still walking with us.

I just want to say thank you for being here. Thank you for existing. The fact you opened your eyes this morning means there is still a reason for you to be here. There’s purpose for you today. I don’t know the reason but I believe God knows and that you are part of something bigger than you realize. You are a very much loved human being. Sometimes, you might not feel very loved, or seen, or known and kinda lonely most days... but the truth is you aren’t alone. God wants us to run this race with Christ and for Christ, and if a man wants to run beside us, he better be heading in the right direction!

Princesses, a strong man is not one with muscles or who boasts in his greatness – he is one who boasts in his weakness, who fears, honors and obeys God, and who loves with all his heart. May you wait for a man who is not simply “Christian” but a true, surrendered man of God – a man who knows who they are and who their Father is!

Yet, I also pray for you, as Princesses. Prepare them, Lord, for your purpose. I pray you all would be women of obedience, full of the Spirit of God and of great faith, and would walk in love and wisdom towards all you encounter.
God, prepare them to be brides of Christ, that they may see clearly in all things, to discern, and not be deceived by the enemy (especially in relationships). Protect them, in this and all areas of their life, and reveal to them step-by-step, what is Your purpose for them. Help them to wait on You, to be still, to praise you everyday, and know your joy. God has been challenging me in obedience lately, complete obedience (not just 87%, you know?). Last night, He gave me this message for you all about the letter “O”. Maybe it’s because I’m out here in Brazil teaching English to kids, and right now we are doing Letter of the Day, but in any case, today’s letter is “O”! ☺️ Princesses, obey Him in all things, surrender your way and will, and you will find Him in the place where you kneel. Friends can be such a gift to us, but they can also do or say things that hurt us. My heart has often come to grief at the actions of friends. I know I am a sensitive soul, but there are times I just don’t like my friends very much! Even so, God does not allow me to wallow in self-pity for long. “Why don’t you pray for them instead of complain about them?”, He say gently to my sore heart. •
Princesses, for you who are hurting because of a friend, I encourage you to forgive. In friendship, any pride or walls built between you two, become poison to the soul. Go love and be reconciled with your friend. Find ways to be a blessing to them, even if you don’t feel like it.

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” -Luke 6:35-36

If this is what the Lord says about our enemies, how much more so for those we call friends? Princesses, a friend loves at ALL times. Be the kind of friend you want others to be to you. If you want a faithful friend, then be one. If you want someone to forgive you, then forgive them. Not to sound cliche, but princesses, be the change you want to see in the world! ♥️ ...starting with those around you.

Princesses, let people in your world, to help you, to love you, to be your support. I know independence sounds really amazing, something to be proud of, but I’m learning that God didn’t make us to be that way. Doing it all will only make you exhausted, trying to be everything for everyone will only make you stressed, and never accepting help creates a lonely life. Do you really think that’s God’s plan for you?

God is patient, not in a rush like we are, and wise in the pace He walks in. His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts are greater. When His Spirit is in you and there is a fire burning in your heart to be used by Him for His glory, to help the broken, to go to the nations, you must remember He cares so much about you that He will take time to prepare you before He sends you. You may not be walking in your promises yet, but know He hasn’t forgotten, He is just patient. Tending to your soul like a gardener. Taking out the weeds and planting deep seeds.

My encouragement to you, Princesses is to be patient as He works. Step into His pace, pause and pray, wait on Him and let Him lead the way. It might take you longer to get to where you are going, but wouldn’t you much rather walk miles with Jesus than take the shortcut alone? :)

Remember, the Lord is your Shepherd. Put your faith in His wisdom and in His ways. Remain humble, in repentance, forgiving quickly and seeking Him always in all things. In His timing, you will see blossoms springing forth in your life. For now, let us rejoice. Though we don’t see the harvest, we know it is coming!

Do you know about the woman at the well? Jesus sat there and a woman approached, to retrieve water. In summary, He spoke to her, told of her life, about the living water and that He was the Messiah. She left her water, ran to the city and shared about this encounter with Jesus. John 4:39 says, “many believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony.” But after meeting Him, having time with Jesus in their city, the people later said to her, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Imagine. This city welcomed Jesus because of the testimony of one woman. She didn’t have to tell the story of how she got saved. Rather, she spoke about the good news of Jesus, what He spoke to her and taught her, and the promise of eternal life.

Princesses, your testimony, your story with God is powerful. Don’t forget that or let fear say otherwise. Every single time God speaks or teaches you something, it is a miracle. Emmanuel! God is with us! How incredible is that? Share your story. Boast in Christ. Testify about His faithfulness. Let people know what God has done and is doing in your life. Don’t be afraid. You never know whose heart will be impacted by your story!
